Viewing your exam papers, consultation and appeals

You have to indicate your request to view your marked test papers or to have a consultation session within 5 days after the announcement of the exam result. You are also expected to fix a consultation appointment with the receptionist of the Euroexam Centre.

Viewing your exam test

The Euroexam Centre offers every examinee an opportunity to view the language exam papers free of charge (the original Question Papers as well as his or her detailed results and the texts written during the Writing test). In such a session, the attendance of a parent or language teacher is welcome, too. You have to indicate the number of persons who are coming (max. 1 extra person) on the application form.

In a viewing session, you may look at your written exam tasks (with solutions and evaluation guideline), as well as the evaluation sheet of your performance at the oral exam. The duration of viewing is max. 45 minutes.

You have to bring a valid ID document for the viewing, otherwise you cannot look at your paper.

When you wish to sign up for a viewing session, you need to register beforehand for one of the time slots offered by the Exam Centre. These sessions can only be held in the offices of the Centre in Budapest.

You can register your request for viewing your results by filling in and sending us the application form. The time slots are filled up on a first come first served basis (see further details below). The appointments fixed cannot be changed.

Consultation

You have the opportunity to view your exam papers and receive expert feedback, as well as tips and recommendations for further preparation during a 45-minute consultation with one of our most experienced examiner teachers. You will also be told about the most characteristic issues and shortcomings, while your strengths will also be highlighted by our colleague to help your future practice.

The consultation fee is HUF 3900.

You can register for a consultation by filling in and sending us the application form (see further details below).

During the consultation, you are allowed to take handwritten notes to take away, but you cannot take the exam papers home, neither can you photocopy it or take photos of it. You must not copy complete sets of exam tasks or texts while taking notes either.

The consultation sessions can only be held in the offices of the Centre in Budapest.

Request for Appeals

If you disagree with the announced exam result, within 15 days you can

  • hand in an appeal, citing statute violation as a reason, or
  • hand in a request for revision request regarding the exam’s evaluation, citing a result calculation mistake as a reason.

You cannot request to retake the exam. Those papers, which are close to the 60% adequacy threshold are re-evaluated and double-checked before the result is announced and finalized (that is, are evaluated for a third time beyond the double marking which had already taken place). Therefore we cannot take into consideration any “fairness requests” regarding the exam results.

According to the 2011 March 27 amendment of the 137/2008. (V.16.) Decree and the 2011 May 13 position of the Educational Authority, a revision request concerning evaluation can be requested for a special fee, that is HUF2000/exam test for the Mediation, Reading comprehension, Writing skills, Listening comprehension tests and HUF3000 for the Speaking skills test. You can pay the fee in person at the customer service of the Euroexam Centre, by post or bank transfer to the account of the Centre in Budapest (Euro Nyelvvizsga Kft, KHB 10403181-31821647-00000000). You can hand in your appeal or revision request at the Euroexam Centre in person, in email or by post by filling in the printed form. In the event of an appeal, you have to show some form of proof of payment, otherwise Centre is entitled to ignore the appeal. The day of registering the appeals and/or revision requests has to be the one what they were posted. The requests are adjudged by the director of the Exam Centre in the first instance within 15 days after being handed in, and the leader of the Accreditation Centre for Foreign Language Examinations (NYAK) subsequently. The candidate (or his or her legal representative in the case of an underage candidate) is entitled to hand in the requests. If you miss the deadline, you lose the opportunity for any legal remedy.
