(EN) Untangling the Spaghetti: Helping Learners Organise their Writing - October 8. 17.00-18.00 (CET)

There’s more to giving feedback on learner writing than correcting mistakes with grammar. In fact, it’s pretty clear that poor sentence composition (including so-called spaghetti writing) and incorrect paragraphing makes a piece of writing much harder to read than simple grammar mistakes. What can we do to help our learners when preparing for the writing part of exams? In this webinar we’ll look at original samples of student work (B2 and C1) and identify simple practical activities through which we can really help students get organised.

Trainer:

Neil Anderson is a freelance teacher trainer and worked previously as Senior Trainer at International House Budapest. He is a trainer on CELTA and DELTA courses for various centres, working with teachers in a range of contexts. He is co-author of Activities for Task-Based Learning and co-runs a blog devoted to online (and offline) task-based lessons, Fluency First ELT.

Many students feel lost when it comes to being asked to speak for 1 minute or longer. What should I say? Where do I start?  How do I explain and justify my views? How do I make sure I sound good? This webinar will offer practical ideas to exploit long-turn speaking tasks at B2 and C1 levels, improving our students’ skills, fluency and confidence when it comes to both exam tasks and everyday speaking.

Trainer:

Piroska Ballér is a dedicated teacher, working full-time for Euroexam and has been in charge of training, monitoring and supervising oral examiners since 2019.
